Anyway, as I was trying to say before I was so rudely interrupted (by myself), I am Arriah Hopkins. I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while now. I mean, I do have another, but that is only fiction... I won't even try to explain that right now. Moving on. I have thought about starting a real blog, but have not gotten around to it until now. And can you guess what I have been doing for the past hour and a half? That's right, staring at the screen trying to figure out what exactly to make my first blog post about. How does one start out a blog? If I were to get myself deeply and hopelessly entangled in some philosophical or political topic right from the first, I would imagine the few who would have a clue what I was talking about would be quite confused and frustrated with me. They would not know who I was or anything about me other than I apparently enjoy spouting nonsense over the Internet to random and anonymous people who probably couldn't care less. However on the other hand, if I were to go rambling on for pages about my everyday life and every little detail about me, I think most would be asleep long before I finished. I still haven't come up with a solution to this problem. So I decided to just write and see where that carries me.
First things first, I would like to share some basic information about myself with anyone who happens to be reading this. As I have said, I am Arriah Hopkins. I am fourteen; nearing the end of my freshman year in highschool. My siblings are Braelen (12yrs), Khasia (10yrs), and Shaya (8yrs). My mother is Tamara and my father is Robert. I am fairly certain they both would be offended if I were to write their ages on here.
You may wonder why this blog is called A Candle Flame. Well, it is because of a quote that has been haunting my thoughts lately. I think it is something like, "There is no darkness so strong that the light of a single candle flame cannot chase it away." I cannot remember for the life of me who it is by. If anyone knows what I am talking about and has the exact quote and/or who it is by, please let me know. It would be nice to get it all figured out. Even Google will not help me, so I begin to wonder if I am just insane after all. It certainly wouldn't surprise me.
Oh, one other thing. I would love it if any readers of mine would contact me with questions or topics for me to write about. I think coming up with ideas will be the hardest part of this for me. So if you would like to, my email adress is arriahmarie@yahoo.com. Even if you do not have anything specific to say, feel free to just send me a message to start up a conversation. I check my email often, and would love to sit and chat with all you nice and amazing people out there.
I think that is enough for this particular post. I hope to find the time to post as often as possible, so stop by whenever you can! Farewell for now!
~Arriah Hopkins
